Guests can enjoy a tailored cooking experience in the comfort of Tjaart’s personal home situated in the Stellenbosch winelands. Guests arrive to a welcome drink, served with canapes before donning a chefs apron and participating in a 4 course interactive dining experience. Tjaart takes the guests on a hands on food journey creating a memorable experience with true South African hospitality flare.
A short masterclass sets the tone before guests set about taking on their own set of challenges in creating a gourmet experience. Guests learn the art of using various Weber Grills to cook their meal which is set in a courtyard under 60 year old vines. Guests get to graze over their creations as the night unfolds in a leisurely manner. Two starter courses are served in an informal setting, main course and dessert are served in the dining room, plated or family style. Dessert is created and presented by Tjaart while guests get to enjoy dessert wine, liqueur’s and coffees as their evening draws to a close.
This is an all-inclusive package with food and beverages. Transfers to and from the venue can be arranged. Minimum of 2 guests, up to 16 people.

Join Tjaart is his home kitchen for a masterclass and service experience. Guests will arrive to chilled bubbles and canapes, served in the kitchen garden.
A masterclass is led by Tjaart where he will share kitchen tips and tricks as well as several life hacks to help you back in your home kitchen.
Guests will then interact in a service experience where they will plate and present their 4 courses under the watchful eye and guidance of Tjaart. All the food is prepared, it is a heat, present and eat affair while learning some fascinating restaurant techniques and how to better entertain at home.
The food is gourmet bistro style, with a touch of elegant flare. A wine pairing can be bolted onto this experience, or just enjoy wines recommended from Tjaart’s cellar from the region.

Weber Grill Academy – Open to the Public
Embrace your passion for food and learn to create phenomenal ways in bringing flavours alive in a fun, relaxed setting while learning the art of the Weber Grill.
Tjaart hosts like-minded foodies on selective days throughout the year where anyone can book and join in on an interactive cooking experience.
Our courses are suitable for all experience levels. Our WEBER classes generally run for 3 – 4 hours.. Many courses focus on recipes important to Tjaart, showcasing dishes that have been inspired to him from his travels and foodie journey, keeping sustainability and seasonality at the core of it all.
In addition to the hands-on learning experience, guests can benefit from a comfortable break in the breathtaking surroundings of the Stellenbosch Winelands. Enjoy a delicious, 3-course informal meal during the course of your experience and make new, like-minded foodie friends. A limited drink service is included in your ticket price.
Tjaart brings a wealth of cookery school experience as was formerly guided in education by Raymond Blanc at Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons, his prestige cookery school in the UK.
COURSE: The Art of Cooking on a Weber
From grilling and roasting to baking and smoking, you’ll be amazed at what you can cook using these simple techniques.
Throughout the class, you will be shown how to get the most out of various Weber Grills, to prepare anything from roasts to de-boned joints, the ultimate pork crackling to sweet and savoury puddings!
In-depth tuition in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, will inspire you with the confidence and enthusiasm to really expand your Weber experience.
Using Weber’s lid-on technique on both fire (briquette) and gas grills, Chef Tjaart will spend two and a half hours teaching you the best way to cook a number of all-time braai classics.
As part of this course, you’ll be tasked with creating a part of the class menu. You will be asked to prepare your own de-boned leg of lamb and be taught how to cut and portion a whole salmon trout.
We will also show just one of the many possibilities to expand your braai menu with a demonstration of baking and making desserts on the Weber.
In essence, you will enjoy a 4-course meal which will include wine, beers and soft drinks. There is a merchandise section where you can stock up on Weber products.
NB: A minimum of 16 bookings are needed for the experience to take place. If the minimum is not reached the experience may not take place, in which case you will be offered an alternate date, or a refund.
